Fall is here and pretty soon winter will arrive. Now is the time to store all those things you just won’t need during the colder months. Your self storage in Boulder CO will come in handy when it’s time to find a place to keep all of your warm month items safe and sound. Sometimes storing is just the best option so you don’t have to worry about these things taking up space in your home. Here are just a few things to consider storing before winter arrives.

Summer Clothes

We’re guessing you won’t need shorts and flip-flops when it’s raining and snowing outside so why not store them? If you have limited space in your closet, this is a great way to free up some room. Box up all of your summer clothes and put them into storage for fall and winter. Then when spring arrives, you can do the same with your winter clothes.

Your Grill

Grilling is mostly a summertime activity so it’s never a bad idea to put it into self storage in Boulder CO once it starts getting cold. This keeps it in great condition by protecting it from harsh weather elements and rusting. This also can provide you with peace of mind because you don’t have to worry about leaving it out on your patio where it could be stolen.

Patio Furniture

Like your grill, patio furniture can get damaged if it’s left out in the rain and snow. If you want to keep it in pristine condition, we recommend storing it until next spring. It will stay safe and you won’t have to worry about purchasing expensive covers. Plus, some materials can crack just from being exposed to colder weather for long periods of time.

Pool Equipment

You obviously can’t put your pool into storage so a pool cover will have to do the trick but what about everything else? Cold weather can take a toll on equipment such as hoses, toys, and filters. Take all of the pool accessories that you can and box them up for storage. Then you won’t have to find room in your house for all pool-related items.

Camping Gear

Unless you plan on camping during the winter, it’s also a great idea to consider storing all of your camping gear now. It can be difficult to find a place for these items in your shed or home so storage can be a great option for most people. Box everything up and make sure you always label everything so that you know what to pull out of storage in the spring.

Elite Storage hopes that these ideas help you get started preparing for the cold. If you don’t have self storage in Boulder, CO, give us a call and we’d be happy to help get you set up!
